Isfahan Itinerary

Isfahan City Center

Usually, tourists book a hotel near Naghshe Jahan square, but if you are far away you can take the subway and get off the train at Imam Hossein Metro station. Then it’s just a 10-minute walk to the square from Sepah street.

As you enter the wonderful square of Naghsh-e Jahan, at first just spend some time in silence to enjoy this amazing square and then start your visit with the mosques because, they close at noon for 2 hours for praying. The first one can be Shah mosque and then Sheikh Lotfolah mosque, and both of them are the best examples of Islamic architecture of Iran. The third place to visit can be Ali Qapu Palace to have a great view of the city and take some pictures. As you finish all the monuments of the square, have your lunch in the great restaurants around and later you will have time to go shopping in the bazaar all around the square and also Qeysarie bazaar with one of its big entrance in the south of the square. If you are looking for some original and high quality rugs, carpets or kilims go to Iran Pazirik Galley.  Don’t miss the peaceful cafes there like: Spadana Café. If you are not still tired, we suggest walking toward Hasht Behesht palace in Hasht Behesht park and visit the palace from the outside (unfortunately most of the paintings inside are destroyed) and then keep walking toward Chahar Bagh Abbasi street, a pleasant pedestrian street that goes toward Si-o-Se pol bridge. You can take a snapp back to your hotel or stay till night, having dinner and then getting back to the hotel. Need more Isfahan travel advice? So write your questions down this page.

Start the program from the east of the city to visit Manar Jonban in the morning (The small towers are shaken from 10 am. every hour, so its possible that to wait a little in the yard) its a short visit that takes only 15 minutes and as it is far from the center you should take a snapp, but don’t worry as the prices of snapp is so reasonable in Iran. Right after this short visit, take another snapp to Atashkadeh, the ruins of an ancient fire temple on top of a hill where you can exercise a little bit, and have a view of the city too.

The great suggestion to do after lunch is having an of traditional bath in Ghazi Hamam, where lots of travelers like to go and take some rest. It is fun to experience some traditions of local people and relax. (For more information, please Contact Us).  In the afternoon there are two options available, the first one is taking a taxi and going to Soffe Mount, an entertainment complex on top of the mount with good weather and restaurants. The other option is spending one hour and a half in the traditional gyms called: “Zoorkhooneh” to watch their show. There are so many of them available. Want to know the names? So write to us in the  comment part about your questions.

Try Dizi for lunch or  Baghala Polo with rice (you can have more information on Isfahan Restaurants & Café page).
